Native American Heritage Month – Finger Lakes Region

Ganondagan State Historic Site & Seneca Art & Culture Center pays tribute to this heritage on the grounds where a Seneca community flourished more than 350 years ago. At its peak, the town contained more than 150 bark buildings housing an estimated 4,500 people. Today, Ganondagan keeps Seneca and Haudenosaunee traditions alive with year-round programming celebrating music, dance, agriculture, crafts, athletics, art, and language. Its nearly 600 acres feature miles of interpretive walking trails as well as a full-size replica of a 17th-century Seneca bark longhouse, furnished with Seneca-crafted household items and trade goods from the era.
